Important facts about physiological changes during pregnancy !

1. Net weight gain – 11 kg (24 lbs)

2. Blood volume increases by 40-50%

3. Blood volume reaches max at – 30-32 weeks

4. Plasma volume increases by 50%

5. RBC volume increases by 20-30%

6. TLC increases with Neutrophilic leucocytosis

7. Total plasma concentration decreases

8. Total plasma protein increases

9. Albumin decreases

10. Globulin (IgA especially) slight increases

11. Fibrinogen levels increases

12. ESR increases

13. All clotting factors increases except – XI and XII

14. Platelet count decreases (gestational Thrombocytopenia)
