THALAMIC HEMMORHAGE

C/L hemiplegia or hemiparesis
sensory deficit involving all modalities
aphasia wid preserved repetn(dominant thalamus)
constructional apraxia or mutism(nondominant thalamus)
OCULAR FEATURES
homonymous visual field defect
deviation of eyes downwards n inwards
unequal pupils
absent light reaction
I/L horners syndrome
absence of convergence
paralysis of vertical gaze
retraction nystagmus

pts later develop a chronic C/L pain syndrome
DEJERINE ROUSSY SYNDROME
